You can do better

Pros

It's a young startup so there is an opportunity to help shape culture. The IP is interesting and unique in a way that makes it's future potential attractive. They are very accommodating to personal life issues. Decent work/life balance. Generally working with nice people.

Cons

Senior management have a very old-school way of thinking. Working from home/telecommuting was not well implemented. Layoffs came out of the blue, one minute everything was going great, the next minute half of the company was laid off. The way management handled these layoffs was shady, especially with foreign workers, basically screwing people out of their severance.

Run while you can! No career development here!

Pros

Switchless network technology has potential if managed properly Relatively good and up to date IT software and communication tools for work Pay is OK and vacation days are generous Benefits are comparable to industry standard HR and onboarding process is top notch, but that's where it ends... HR will eventually do you in!

Cons

Cons are too numerous to count... Micromanagement to the extreme, snr mgmt only interested in reports. It's all about deadlines and mgmt esp at VP level puts intense pressure on you to deliver and will blackmail of necessary Company mission is quite clear but vision and how to achive is blurry No interest or dialogue about career development...like ever! The 1 on 1's are all about measuring out objectives and targets! Imagine being handed a PDF of 1 week,2 week 1 month, 3 months 6month 1 year objectives on the first day of work...even before you meet your team members for the 1st time. No work life balance, communication among collegue's very superficial. Many managers and HR are green snakes, they tell you one thing and do the opposite. HR is not on your side and is only KGB for snr mgmt as you will eventually discover... Total lack of respect towards employees, you are just a commodity that can be dispensed with at any time! You will never develop your career here, they only care about what you can do for the company. Leave this ship before it sinks and go somewhere where you are valued!

Pros

Bright folks Training available Can move between teams

Cons

No leadership Lead by committee Dishonest No product focus HR is unhelpful to employees but great for the company Did temporary layoffs for more than 30% of the company and did worst layoffs 3 years ago. While they have no intention of it being temporary, than for COV!D rules it allows them extending temporary layoffs (temp layoffs means no severance and vacation pay is held until you quit).
