Pros

If you are interested in learning about mental health and learning disabilities then you can get a hands on experience here

Cons

Poor management of staff No motivational aspect. No bonus or salary increases other than 1% Staff have no say! Energy draining No therapeutic form of working. Everything is tailored around what the clients want and if its negative, theres nothing staff can do to change those behaviours other than to prompt. Very low staff involvement or say in decisions. Bullying culture !!! Internal company politics is very high! Managers who believes that they are invincible Very high staff turnover rates. Very rear for there to be internal hiring for better job positions within the company. No developmental opportunities Very depressing. No work life balance as you carry the stress of work to your home! Do NOT stay longer than is necessary!!!

Pros

Great ethos about wanting to provide the best service for people with Learning Disability, Autism or Mental Health. You are made to feel welcome and training is good. You meet some lovely people. Great committed people work for Certitude which is being propped up by these committed, loyal souls as most homes are understaffed.

Cons

Certitude do not walk their talk. Directors are entrenched having been there for over 10 years some of them, Head's that need to be dismissed because they are incompetent are still there. There are things that need to change, but it is difficult because Director's and above do not want to change. I love Certitude's ambition but they need to take care of the fundamental's like truly listening to operational staff's concerns implementing the changes that staff require. They also need to pay operational staff more. People are leaving in droves but this is put down to being normal staff wastage. It is not and they really should have a leavers form so they can take on board the views that leavers have. If they like you and your face fits then they will go so far as create a role for you, if they don't and you have a complaint against your manager then you are left to sink or swim. They say they care but these are empty platitudes. For some people Certitude will work and there are staff that have been there for over five and ten years and counting. It's a bit of a caustic environment that is difficult to detect at first because it is similar to Stepford Wives! Everyone seems happy and smiley on the surface but dig deeper and you find something different.
