The biggest issue I found with Cervus was the higher management had big goals and dreams, but no idea how to formulate a strategy to achieve these goals. I had the GM for our operation say to me: "I don't even know what your job is, but you get good results, keep doing it"
It's your job to know! The communication issues could be drawn back to over communication, they need to give branches a little more time to respond to issues, rather than jump down their throats before the department head knows there is an issue.
Too many frivolous emails, and sloppy protocol (cc people you shouldn't).
Money was wasted left, right and centre with pointless last minute road trips where a phone call could suffice.
A complete lack of direction, and lack of confidence in upper management to stand up to OEM's. They just took the beating and attacked the subordinates.
