      Pros

      The work is very rewarding, and students are grateful for the opportunity. The Rise Up orientation prepares students for online learning, which makes the school unique. It is a fast-paced and active position, and travel is necessary occasionally. Working remotely with travel allows for flexibility in work hours, especially when working with students and providing student support.

      Cons

      It is important to manage one's calendar and track work hours. Like most education jobs, it's easy to work over contract time and get burned out. Having a healthy balance and prioritizing tasks is key to this job.

      ChallengeU's management style shifted in 2019, adopting the guiding principles of Conscientious leadership. This approach involves a collaborative partnership in which all stakeholders share management functions, rights, and responsibilities over a range of resources. As a result of this shift, ChallengeU achieved B-Corp certification in 2019. This new management style has the potential to significantly impact the future of underserved youth by positively impact their life trajectory.

      As a start-up company, we are constantly evolving and pivoting to improve our services. This means that your job may be impacted from day-to-day, but rest assured that all stakeholders are consulted and given the opportunity to express their viewpoints before any major decisions are made.

      Teamwork. Great pay, and the ability to create real change in the lives of students. Training and support. Leadership and not Managment. The belief is that everyone is important!

      Cons

      While hours are usually consistent, with case management this is not also possible not a con of challengeU but the reality of case managment.
