      Pros

      Experience okay. Most of the staff is great.

      Cons

      Management/supervisory staff is elitist. Clickish. Weird dress code oversight (reinforcement of gender stereotypes). Lower tier staff is underpaid for job qualifications and expectations.

      The staff is professional. The patrons are awesome. It was great to be a immeshed in my community in this way.

      Very comfortable but dull hourly labor with no future

      Comfortable working conditions at a beautiful public library Get to help keep a valuable, educational public resource in good condition Colleagues are generally nice people Get to help patrons with their questions

      Cons

      You are getting paid $11/hr with no benefits Zero opportunity to advance to circulation desk unless circulation/management likes you Caught between circulation/shelving duties and cafe maintenance, can get hectic with shift changes Responsibilities may change with little warning On your feet all the time Supervisors can be bad at cluing in employees to the rules they make up in their heads/change on a whim
