They hire you as an associate, pay you an associate wage, then 1 week on you will be opening/closing registers by yourself and manning the store at night by yourself. You are expected to sell at least 3 items per transaction and sell every hour you are in the store, but keep in mind your managers will take sales from you and then ask you at the end of the week why you are not selling more. In Ontario you are supposed to get at least a 30 minute break for every 5 hours worked. They get around this by encouraging you to only take a maximum 15 minute break, but they say “you can take a 30 minute break if you want”. From my first day till the day I quit, I kept hearing about how nobody’s job is safe and if the GM doesn’t like you she will just fire you. I think it’s some sort of ploy to control people with fear? Unfortunately for them it didn’t make me scared, but it did make me furious. How many people with children at home have they constantly threatened? They talk about how they have a wide range of sizes. It’s not true. They have a lot of bras in the smaller sizes and everything above an E cup is monstrously ugly, uncomfortable or both. They talk about a perfect fit but in order to sell you a bra they will send you home with the wrong fit, or a style you hate. They will even blame you for it. “Your “chest” is too big to get any lift from a bra” - the silliest thing I have ever heard in my entire life. The schedule was put up on Wednesdays to Thursdays. So you didn’t know if you were working on Sunday… until the Thursday just before. No regard for anybody’s time I had training shifts with at least 2 managers who made casually racist statements. With no self awareness at all. The dress code is a hilarious joke. Business casual to sell ugly bras? Please be serious This isn’t everything, just all I have the energy to write. Do not work here and do not shop here.
