It started out great...

Pros

The people I worked with were awesome. It was a fantastic environment that supported anything you wanted to do, until the parent company came... leading to the slow, abusive and politically driven death of an entire office.

Cons

There were never any opportunities for advancement. US East coast office had great work/life balance. Sofia office expects you to work till it hurts. Company is mired with politics. Upper management humiliated, abused and threw people under the bus during development. When things went well, they took all the credit. Arrogant, many internal conversations belittling competitor efforts. Nothing is ever thought through, they live up to their name -- code reviews, commits, bug fixes and new features, all chaos... If your opinion is not in line with theirs, you are "not the best" and don't belong there. Highest turnover rate I've seen in any company to date. Shut down the US East coast office. Got the 'thanks for making us millions, we're firing all of you.' Spoke to many people in the Sofia office, they feel the same way -- just no one ever speaks out about it over there. Worst part was, the CEO actually allowed all this to transpire and turned the other way. Now people with families and their kids are in a very unpleasant situation.

Pros

- Nearby to metrostantion - There is home office policy

Cons

- The leader of the team I am in does not have the necessary qualities to lead a team of people - the promises made duirng of the interview are subsequently not fulfille (I had been a part in several of them); On matters that require his support, he does not provide it and passes the ball to other colleagues and departments; There are quite a few cases in which he gives unconstructive criticism to the work of colleagues in the team, combined with sharp language, which is taken by some of them as unnecessary spam or insults. His criticism is not justified and there are many gaps in his technical observations and statements. - The work is mostly independent. There are formal meetings where weekly blockers must be resolved - none of this is happening on the right way. More experienced team members prefer not to participate in these meetings at all. As a result, an expert opinion on your problem is very difficult to be get - maybe because more experienced people either don't know or don't want to give you such opinion. - I do not recommend Chaos to people who want to work in a team and build strong cooperative relationships with their teammates. There are teams formed, but they don't really exist as relationships (based on the team I'm on). Like I said, everyone works alone and if you ask for support for something, you either get insufficient support, or he/she publicly (or via chat comunicators) criticizes you for something you've already asked for or thinks it's complete crap (nobody's perfect). - As one of the colleagues said, in Chaos you work until you get sick. - For other teams, maybe the situation is different, but for the team I'm on, it's like that: Imposing communism does not lead to productivity; Toxic communication does not lead to motivation and a healthy work environment; That kind of environment is toxic and it's difficult to work in it.

Pros

There are still interesting technical problems to solve if you don't mind the recent switch to a hard corporate mode

Cons

Going by the internal feedback system - Entire leadership team changed, recruited entirely externally. No long term employee received promotion, citing "lack of experience" - Zero or negligible salary increases company-wide - Disruptive reorganization that is being forced onto everyone, ready or not - Employees distrust the new management - The feedback system was shut down after single round because of the negative comments
