Pros

Nothing positive to say about this company. This company lacks strong leadership, so nothing positive trickles down to their employees.

Cons

You have to work hard to support the corporate office. They do not support you. Health benefits only for managers, not for everyone. They will find the cheapest way to run their hotels at the cost of fair employee wages bonuses, and other benefits.

Pros

It seems when you get to the corporate office things will be less stressful.

Cons

Not a lot of training involved with the company, they simply expect you to know. I noticed that the insurance for the hourly employees is really bad, most have to get Obama Care.

Pros

I met great people, who mostly had the same complaints. The company was a disaster, but we were at least miserable together.

Cons

Absolutely no idea what they are doing. They are building hotel after hotel with no structure, no procedures, no plan. Even basic forms are impossible to obtain. They have a website with their "Policies and Procedures" available to download; however, the forms there are completely outdated and irrelevant! I processed a workman's comp form through the wrong insurance company because they could not get their act together and put the right information out to management. Corporate HR is a joke. It takes several pay cycles for them to set up direct deposit for employees. They constantly mess up health insurance forms (employees don't get signed up, dependents don't get signed up, employees get signed up for the wrong insurance, etc). They have no formal training procedures for any department. They throw you in but when you "mess up", you get three different people from corporate telling you about it. Forms magically appear out of nowhere and suddenly it's presented to you as a "Chartwell policy" that you should have known about and used this whole time (as if you'd been trained). In their world, it is perfectly acceptable to open a hotel with none of the basic office tools - computer, scanner, printer, copier, fax machine, internet, desks, etc. But they still somehow expect you to get your work done. They have grown too large, too fast, and they cannot dig themselves out of the mess they have created. Their corporate office is understaffed with players that have grown too comfortable. This company is a circus with no ringleader.
