My training was rushed and very poor because management let another employee go. I was not informed of this situation. The employee was still employed when I started. She quizzed me about the hours that I was to work on several occasions. I pointed her to our manager, as I did not know anything. I was working when that employee had a meeting with management and was led to the door. That was my first shift on my own. I had only trained once at that desk and I had no idea of where even the simplest of items were, such as an extension list. I had to go through every drawer in the desk. I did not have the basic items to help me do my job in an efficient manner, such as the menus that I was to update for the following day and a basic map of where residents lived when delivering packages. There is another desk with another employee that worked at the same time as me. I called/emailed and asked her where I could find the items. She tried to help me, but I was too new to know exactly the direction that she was attempting to point me. Also, she was sharp with me, as she was trying to do her own job. This resulted in me staying late for my first two nights. I received a text from my manager the following day, that if I stayed late again, that I would written up. I quit my job last evening due to rushed poor training and the threat of being written up while trying to learn my job.
I took a large pay-cut to come to work for your company because I thought that it seemed like a great company. It was not what I expected.
