This place initially seemed like an enjoyable intimate startup like environment. Interview went fairly smooth but within first few weeks of work, I notice I'm never given the opportunity to do the work I was actually hired for-- customer or client success. They have me try out a few "scenario" based situations of how I'd respond to customers but always pull me back of the actual role while my partner (who happened to start the same time as me) actually has an actual job to do. So here I am wasting about 2-3 months doing nothing mostly and bullsh*t side projects while my manager (the COO) checks in with me every once in a while telling me im doing great and how if there was ever any issues, she would tell me. After about 4 months, Im suddenly laid off due to "bad culture fit". I don't get any answers when I ask the CEO what made me a "bad fit" and they don't want to share why. Hmmmm I guess me being the only minority present constituted me as a "bad fit?" who knows. Also keep in mind the other person who had the same start date as me also happens to be a direct family member of an executive/founder there. Not sus at all. Also, the 1 star review posted below in detail is absolutely true and valid as well.
