Pros

Strong commitment to environmental health, and safety from the CEO to the plant managers. The company is willing to shut the plant down to do the right thing.

Cons

The company grows through acquisitions so it requires you to be flexible.

Pros

Great benefits; workers great; HR tries to establish a positive work environment

Cons

Very controlling culture. Micro management by senior managers can make life difficult. Senior managers want toughness from the employees and are quiet rough in the way they conduct their "coaching"

Pros

Continual downward spiral during last 5years. Started out quite good. Mostly, solid hard working, earnest people, suddenly in fear for job security, due to panic driven, multilayered, made up for the moment, changing on a whim, safety regulations/rules, that seem to single out scapegoats, rather than identify/rectify any REAL problems, in any meaningful way. That's the good side.

Cons

Locally, the largest problem is how the whole work permit/LOTO/ and safety system is being deployed. Taking no input from the personnel actually familiar with the systems involved, instead relying on multilayered, and sometimes contradictory methods of "safety principles" Regionally (or upper management) Little to no knowledge of systems, components, or structures, countermanding "boots on the ground" knowledge of real problem, forcing time delays (at best), and truncated decisions, contrary to conclusions already drawn and ready to be acted upon by site personnel.
