Pros

• Work perks - staff shred on Thursday mornings, free ski/snowboard lessons, free lift pass (when slope is quiet) • Some staff are lovely to work with • Discount at surrounding shops

Cons

• Managerial roles being given to literal children, with no past work experience • Staff will stab you in the back • No repercussions for showing up late • No praise for picking up the slack of those who turn up late, in fact, no praise for anything at all • High staff turn over • Constantly taking on new employees instead of giving current staff more hours • Can go from being really busy to really quiet, big dip in hours unexpectedly • Unprofessional management and coordination • A lot of staff standing around talking and not working • Poor time management, unrealistic time given to do certain tasks, such as; set up before groups arrive (made harder with staff turning up late), pack down and big pack down of donut lanes.

Pros

Staff Shred on thursday morning. The team members That's it.

Cons

The board would rather see their % of the profit rise, rather than seeing their staff paid competitively in line with the industry. Snow Crew, Guest Services and Level 1 instructors are paid minimum wage, whereas, rival snow domes in the uk offer (per hour)£15 for a level 1 BASI instructor, and £12 for lift operators and ski technicians, and £10 for park builders. Not a big enough regular working instructor team, meaning the business loses money by re-arranging and refunding lessons. The board flat out refused when challenged about paying all on the NMW the national living wage, as it would "cripple the business" and yet, not a month later, several people were given shiny new titles and pay rises to match. Not to mention, they shell out 10's of thousands of £ for replacement inflatables for downhill donuts. Got rid of the free physio benefit, which in our line of work is paramount.
