Pros

- Amazing people & teams (Actually! Not just because that's what people say) - Really great work benefits including super fun socials (the HR team actually listen & would action/address any feedback we had) - Hybrid working - OFFICE DOG(S) <3 - Generally a very comfortable & enjoyable place to work, I never got the Sunday scaries. - Lots of training support & opportunities for cross trainings. - They absolutely do preach what they practice when it comes to stainability! I always felt proud to be a part of that.

Cons

- My one and only con, I did struggle with the salary(s). I always felt my pay never truly reflected my work load and sadly felt like it was often downplayed when I would raise my concerns. I would still be there today otherwise!!

Pros

Hybrid working and the building is nice

Cons

Where do I begin? The company is full of 20 something year olds pretending to know how to run a company and help build it when the company itself has been around for years! The lack of actual competency and people is beyond me! You have a HR department who is fake nice, delusional when it comes to complaints, criticism or feedback on anything wrong and then they try to claim mental health is the reason. The management seem to clearly not communicate effectively within their teams let alone amongst themselves and it’s clear managers are just tolerating one another than actually being close/friends. The training, guidance or structure does not exist when you start so expect a lot of self learning and the stupid comment of “ask questions” because you will be questioning your existence in the job when you start. There is no progression, the salary is terrible and it’s all cliquey and high school. It’s a shambles and the disorganisation is so apparent when you join. The office is a shoe box, the turn over is high and they don’t say that so they say how new your role is or they had to create it because they’re so “busy”. Endless and pointless meetings which happen daily to make up for the lack of actual tasks and work and it’s a fake business pretending to be serious and corporate. The lack of actual diversity and ages is also an issue.

Thank you for your review. We’re sorry to hear that you didn’t enjoy your short time at Chilly’s. We are really proud of our culture, our people and the talent we have in our business but we will always do our best to act on any feedback given to us. Adapting to a new environment can be challenging as a new employee and we will always do our best to support our people with an onboarding programme. There are regular checks ins from managers and the People team - it is always in everyone’s interest to support new joiners and the teams rally round to do this. Driving diversity is a big focus for us. Our People represent a range of ages and ethnicities, and in a recent survey, we came first out of over 800 companies for the number of women in management and leadership roles. We’re always working to do more and have some key strategies in place to continue to diversify our business, including advertising vacancies on inclusive job boards, and checking our job adverts for ableist/ gender specific language. You can read more about how we strive to create a culture of inclusion and belonging in the People section of our Responsibility Strategy on our website. After completion of their probationary period, all of our employees have quarterly reviews with their manager, using our careers progression framework to discuss their development and goals. We want our people to feel empowered to shape their own development and have a clear path of progression within the business, and believe this happens through regular conversations with their manager, as well as exposure to lots of different areas of the business. We are always open to receiving feedback, so please feel free to reach out to the People team via email. We would welcome the chance to talk to you more about this.
