my initial base pay was higher than what I made when I moved to commissions by 20k+ and I never made more than 60/70, and I was hitting goal. Sat around for the first 3 months. Old systems and tools. Had to clock in and clock out. President was rude, cursing and disrespectful, demanding to do all of these things but unhelpful. CEO was inappropriate in meetings, loud and unhelpful to real issues.

Be aware that the base salary is actually a draw against future commissions, which isn’t made clear during the hiring process. The products are pretty outdated, which makes it tough to close new business. Leadership and management roles are all within one family, and that can limit growth or influence for others. One of the biggest surprises is the commission structure — it’s not consistent across the team. Some reps make as little as 8%, while others make up to 14% for the same work. There also appears to be favoritism in how guarantees and opportunities are assigned, which can make compensation feel uneven or biased.
