Pros

Excellent nurses and doctors who support a noble mission. Decent pay.

Cons

High turnover, mostly related to an administration that doesn't care about the employees. This is getting worse as time goes on! It wasn't like this when I started there 13 years ago! Christ Hospital used to be all about the employees and it was an honor to even get a job there, and once you were in, you didn't want to leave. I remember soon after I started there, the CEO came to me personally and asked me if there was anything that she could do to make me happier as an employee! First place I EVER worked that even cared if I was happy! That CEO is long gone and the CEO now is a banker who only cares about the money! Now, people have to sign a contract to be hired on so that they can't leave! After working at Christ Hospital as an RN for 13 years, I was hurt at work providing primary care to a patient. After calling all the shots, and determining each step of what would happen during the healing process, for 6 months, Christ Hospital terminated me when I didn't heal completely. They said that it is their policy, without exception, to terminate an employee after 6 months of inability to work, no matter what the cause. That would be exactly the amount of time that I spent in physical therapy before they decided that I needed surgery! They wouldn't even work with me so that I could maintain my benefits until I could return! In speaking with legal council, this is nothing new for Christ Hospital. If you choose to work there, DON'T GET HURT!

Pros

Healthcare side of the house is fantastic. It can have some of the typical struggles you see in many of the regional hospitals with staffing levels, ability to take time off, etc., but the Nursing staff continue to push through and provide excellent care.

Cons

Unfortunately, this list is too long for what should be a top hospital in the region. Most of the negative posts on this company are true. Especially when it comes to IT. Pay is less than most in the region for nursing staff. Recently cut benefits and continuing to cut. Continue to talk a great game about caring about employees, but then every action taken is a slap to their face. Management teams, especially on the IT side, are unethical and act with lack of integrity towards the vision and mission of the hospital. IT management are managing the message and putting the hospital and its patients at risk. Too many times they have hidden risks from legal and top Executives to try and save themselves. They should be reporting to the Executives immediately when a risk to the hospital and the community it serves arises. This behavior was reported to HR and Legal with no actions taken. Way too many risks still exist today. Company has lost too many great employees because management won't listen to the feedback coming out of HR and employee exit interviews. To summarize it all up, the company culture is terrible, unhealthy, and still taking a turn for the worse. Especially in IT. In IT everyone is jumping ship only to realize the ship sank a long time ago.

Pros

Most coworkers were great to work with.

Cons

NO worklife balance. If you get sick, you better know 2 days in advance so you can plan your time away from work to see your doctor. Not friendly to employees with disabilities. While they grudgingly accommodated my disability, the micromanagement and nit picking increased in other areas. Reviews were always a surprise... It would be nice to get immediate, constructive feedback, not learn 6 months later that management hasn't like how you've been doing your work.
