Pros

Good Benefits, good restaurants to eat lunch in Crosstown.

Cons

I was hired as Director’s Assistant and almost immediately after I started I was bounced around from Dentist to Dentist to lab etc. When I told them I wasn’t happy with all the rotating I was basically told well it is what it is by management. Let me add that management didn’t manage much and were clueless when asked anything! Two dentists in particular have zero chairside manners and were basically abusive to any assistant that helped them. I have 20 yrs assistant experience and have taught dental assisting and I was treated like I knew nothing. Patients got to show up hours late for appointments and were still seen and we were made to work over or thru lunch when it was the front desk’s fault. High high turnover here and the reason why is assistants are treated like slaves.

Pros

General staff are good people, who care about helping others.

Cons

Most of management are grossly unqualified. They are put into position based on who they know, and are not held to the same standard as regular employees.

Pros

Great benefits and the people you work with seem nice. Great set of work values and reflects our work and need in the community and with patients.

Cons

Culture is very cliquish. Leadership hides everything behind closed doors and communication across barriers doesn't happen. They don't let people know what's going on and its difficult to focus on your interests as they move people where ever they need when ever they restructure, which so far has been about once a year. The organization has no staff development in place and preaches they support staff, yet the staff bare the brunt of leadership's lack of transparency. It seems there is a general sense of confusion and lack of decision making, which is fine for upper management, but the lower levels of the organization are continuously wondering what is happening, why, and what their organizational goals are. The organization also has a great set of work values, but continuously fails to follow them. There is no continuation. They establish values, and don't utilize them. They develop programs, but don't provide enough support to see them through efficiently without causing pain for the ones doing the work. Our patients are important, and the work we do for them is invaluable...but the pain caused to employee emotional and psychological stress is great.
