Pros

Good mortgage products, tech, and loans do close on time. There is help for those who are remote and who focus on self-generated production but it does not come at the branch level.

Cons

Though I only worked at Churchill Mortgage for only six months I can honestly say this; I have never been more disappointed in a company and it's Management than Churchill Mortgage. What surprised me the most about Churchill Mortgage is that don't hide the fact they take a faith-based approach in most everything they do. Yet in practice, this simply isn't the case or it certainly wasn't my experience. There is no empathy, no understanding because put simply it's about closing loans. So say what they might Churchill Mortgage does not practice what it preaches. Because this is a faith-based organization I did feel a bit uncomfortable with all the religious overtones. It wasn't uncommon to receive scripture almost on a daily bases. I was asked to support an alt right religious group who I fundamentally disagreed with. Wasn't any pushback when I didn't but I shouldn't be asked to support such a group. I do wonder if they knew my religious beliefs were different from theirs if I would have been treated as an outsider. One thing is for certain I wasn't about to let them know. While there is help for those who focus on self-generated production the help doesn't come at the branch level. You are responsible for all your own marketing cost which can both become costly and really slows your production if you haven't the money to spend. Branch managers are more focused on in-house loan officers and will let the remote LO's fail without any real input of advice on how to succeed within the Churchill Platform. Even when asking directly for help it all fell on deaf ears. I do truly believe if I were at the branch and not remote I would have had much more success and not departed as I really had planned to make Churchill my last stop. But ultimately it's just a sales job.

Nepotism

Pros

Laid back atmosphere , relaxed dress code , you can slack a day or two in a row , access to FB chat , no micromanagement as long as you meet deadlines . Good place to start at . Use it as a stepping stone. Some are good hearted genuine people .

Cons

Nepotism. Very hard and useless to prove yourself , too many daddy's boys or friends of daddy's boys in a need of a management / well paid job . They annoy you with the company's culture and christian emails but if you re not in their clique they could care less . You are forced to attend christian gatherings so if you're not a christian do not even think to give it a try. Lots of potlocks and the incompetent women get by with lots of home-made cakes . As part of their clique , they will promote you if you are incompetent and cannot perform your job duties . As an outsider , you will have no opportunities for advancement . They do not need to promote talent , since they can piggyback on Dave Ramsey's business . Hypocrisy in high dosage . At the end of the day everyone in a management position is barking the same slogans to take home a big paycheck . There are all kinds of " managers ", from the " pipeline manager " to the "manager " whose role no one has figured out yet. Very interesting crowd . Lots of in-house romances including extramarital affairs tolerated by management .

Good culture and learning experience

Pros

The culture is fantastic and the people that work with you are great. As long as you get your work done on time and go above and beyond when you can. You will get a long just fine. They are generous with holidays. Best part of all, for 95% of employees can work from home if need be or if distance plays a factor as long as it does not prohibit you from doing your job. The executives treat you like a human and always offer up coaching advice, and don't look down at their subordinates. They encourage team building excersize and let you do volunteer work for charities while on company time. This is so that you can give back and not have to worry about taking a pay cut from doing so. Great culture, miss them already!

Cons

Pay is lower/ not very competitive. I have worked there for 2 years and did not get a raise. The room to grow with promotions is rare. And the transparency/communication needs work. The HQ is about to move further south and every other department knew about it except for the department that I worked in. Other than that, no other issues.
