Pros

- Team members were helpful - friendly, fun people around the rest of the organisation - 30 days work from anywhere

Cons

- Micro management style - there was always more work than was possible within an 8 hour day with an expectation to work more than 8 hours - push for quantity of go lives over quality - lack of support to produce quality mainly because people with the knowledge were overrun with work and had no time to help anyone but themselves - lack of a desire to truly help customers - monthly conversations around personal development opportunities felt like a chore - inability to place trust/connect with reporting manager

Pros

- Flexible working hours for some teams - Free fruit and coffee - Free flu jabs - Internal training sessions held by senior Cin7 managers - Flexibility around how you do your work, which is positive when it’s in the right hands

Cons

Be aware that the company goal is to make as much money as possible so that it can be sold. As a result, employee welfare has been ignored, up until recently. Cin7 has lost about 20% of their employee headcount this year, due to constant resignations. Incentives such as paid health insurance have been introduced to retain staff, but the issue lies in the management team. Bad management has been an ongoing issue, but no improvements have been made despite executives being well aware of what’s going on. Here goes the list of cons/examples of concerning behaviour: - Indirect threats used to discourage negative Glassdoor reviews - Those relying on Cin7 to retain their visas are told to write positive Glassdoor reviews. This makes up a large percentage of their workforce. - Management get staff to write fake Capterra reviews, which is used by potential customers to evaluate Cin7’s product - Achievement of targets are manipulated by middle management, which they get commission from. This creates unrealistic targets for their teams which results in staff being unhappy and overworked - People get told off and sworn at publicly - Managers openly bad mouth employees in the office, for everyone within an earshot to hear - Reports of bullying and sexism go ignored - Support teams are asked to come into work when they have called in sick, or are pressured to work from home. On the upside, they give us free tea because they say they care about our health. - You are encouraged to bend your moral compass and lie to customers for financial gain. Example: Told by managers in team meetings to “bend your ethics” and “sell them [customers] air”. - Promotions are unpaid - Verbal promises of pay rises broken by management - Micromanagement, especially in support and onboarding team - Issues with hiring candidates due to negative Glassdoor reviews/hostility shown to interviewees by managers. This has forced HR to call people who have applied for jobs from months back, as no one else wants to work there.
-Managers encourage lying. Perfect example is that Danny Ing isn't the CEO - Mark Butler is.

Pros

Danny Ing founder - great guy, inspirational. The team environment without management is great. Fresh fruit to eat daily. Great product. If you can block out management and just focus on your task then you generally have good days. Once you are in the bad basket , you are treated as a traitor.

Cons

No one wants to be held accountable Mid management are amateur at best, they have no management experience. They all need to go. Communication is terrible, a lot of closed door discussions. Meetings for the sake of meetings. No real team collaboration. If you are leaving management will only come to you after the fact to offer you sweeteners to stay, but no opportunity for growth otherwise.
