Great people, bad company

Pros

Honestly one of the best teams of people I've ever worked with in my career! Everyone is super hard working, fun, a team player, collaborative and great. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Cons

- The company is less than a year old and has gone through at least 2 major layoff rounds. This should be a red flag to anyone. - CEO is always absent and yet almost everyone will, at some point, tell you that you need to run a specific decision by the CEO - CEO one of the least empathetic people I've ever met in my life, and does not seem to understand how other human beings work, how human emotions work, and what the appropriate emotion to display in any given circumstance is. Other team members actively warn you against booking long meetings with him, making choices without his direct input (I was an IC?), or expecting him to not derail a meeting. - Company seems to be struggling with funding - Company does not seem to have a solid feature roadmap other than copying the competition

Pros

Working here lets you witness first hand the inner-workings of a start up in an extremely competitive environment...

Cons

...and it's all being done wrong. Led by a mentality that preaches left and right the triumph of long term sustainability over short term gains, the entrance into low season saw many "members of the team" who were hired in a frenzy at the time of need (the launch of e-scooters in Germany) released in the name of "restructuring". The company culture is headed towards the most unhealthy direction as the employees, majority of whom are effectively in their probation period, are not asking questions in the face of uncertainty, lack of transparency and what has evidently become a one-man show. When a decision affecting the work of almost all employees in one way or another would only be communicated to a bunch of "select people", you would think the employees would mount a collective concern. Instead the regular company-wide meetings have become a bit of a spectacle during which certain characters will have goofy questions to show the "human-side" of the otherwise inaccessible management.

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate you taking the time to write it. We take our employees' feedback very seriously and into consideration in order to continue improving our processes and structure. As we are still in an early phase, we face different challenges every day, and change is constant in our type of business due to its nature, but we are working very hard on overcoming them and build a more structured environment with the help of our valuable employees. We do encourage all our employees to talk to their line managers or address the HR department for any concerns or issues they are facing, but we do want to help and improve. We are here to help and support in every way possible.

Pros

amazing young people working there but not being appreciated for their work

Cons

Where to start!!! If I could give it less than 1 star I would do it!! - Top management has no vision and no strategy!! decisions to be changed from one day to another and you will be blamed for bad results. - No communications - Saw people being fired in less than 14 days of joining the company just because the management figured out they don't need this position!! - No employees benefits - No training programs - No career development - Beer Fridays are not to enjoy your time with your colleagues but to get drunk and forget what you had to face that week!! - No Work/Life balance - They expect you to work day and night and you shouldn't expect even a "Thank you" - Giving power to wrong people - No proper on & off boarding - would wait until you have 1 day left in your probation period and then they fire you.
