For a great cause but not for everybody

Pros

You feel like you’re making a change that is meaningful. You can tell it’s done for the love of the animals.

Cons

Fairly toxic environment. Favoritism. Unsupportive peer dynamics. Insufficient training and emotional support for the intensity of the role. While the job itself is not for the faint hearted, feedback often felt punitive rather than developmental. Also, Performance was reviewed using security camera footage, which added significant pressure and stress. Even if it’s a position such as front desk.
