Pros

Free juice every Wednesday... Oh goodie.

Cons

Unsafe work environment. Poor leadership. Expensive benefits. Abusive and demoralizing at every turn. Feedback for improvement ignored. Worst employment experience I have had in over 35 years.

Pros

Much better than most other places to work in the area. County HR and benefits.

Cons

There is a definite us vs. them mentality. Very one-upsmanship. Leadership is not professional

Pros

Helping people and your community. Being a part of making a better life for all kinds people. Working with all ages and meeting many interesting people. Customers are very appreciative of your help and attention. A sense of accomplishment and contribution. Pretty good benefits package.

Cons

Atmosphere was very adversarial; no place for any discussion. Employees were told to spy on coworkers and report smallest infractions (meetings that ran 5 -10 minutes over, letting the phone ring more than 3 times, bathroom usage was tracked). Violence in the workplace was tolerated and staff was strongly discouraged from reporting because of the image it might create. At different locations there were fights and weapons brandished. There was little concern for the safety of employees that were threatened and verbally abused. There was lip service to sexual harassment but when female employees were called vulgar abusive curse words, employees were told it was a personal problem. A workplace consultant did a survey and ensured staff they could be honest and that results would be anonymous. Afterwards, some comments were ridiculed and they tried to identify who had written them. Culture is draconian. Blame and punishments were apportioned unfairly and without proof. Rules changed daily and only applied to certain staff. They forced out long term employees to hire the young unskilled workers who had no experience and, yes, we were expected to train them. High turnover is ongoing on every level. If you question ANYTHING you are stigmatized, hunted, and labeled "Not a Team Player".
