The worst head office. Ever.

Pros

Team members are very friendly and if left alone do a great job. Not many other pros- they added some Nespresso machines- but then cut the head office staff, so enjoy the coffee. Systems are outdated, the amount of polyester makes the building a fire trap, very high turnover of staff, so a constant stream of new faces. Meeting after meeting - when no resolution is achieved. New buzz words depending on the revolving door of general managers and head of brands. Weekly new process that of course is needed ASAP- and then changed depending on the weather . All of this gets in the way of getting work done. Management does not care about the people- only the bottom line- which is shrinking based on the lack of consistency and leadership. The culture code and values are a joke. Bullying happens in the open and is accepted. The head office culture is depressing and if you want to feel like a hamster on a spinning wheel five days a week- this is the place- otherwise stay far away- you have been warned.

Cons

Upper management say one thing and do the other. No work life balance- HR cannot be trusted- nothing is confidential. If you are looking to work in the the head office or stores- I would tell you to think again or ask for a big big big raise to make it bearable.

Pros

The team are great, we all get along, support each other and are here to do a good job.

Cons

Management aren't aligned and often have different agendas which causes chaos in the team. A lot of rework directed by management as they're unclear of expectations in first place and don't give clear direction of deadlines. Trust from management is non-existent and insulting. Pay isn't in line with industry and the company is very tight in giving pay rises, promotions where deserved and bonuses. Even when you're on a bonus scheme this doesn't mean anything when it comes to actually paying out!!!

My boss was a bully

Pros

Great staff and lovely customers

Cons

My boss was a bully and our team worked in fear, he was moody and he had obvious favourites. The expectations from the boss where unreasonable we were expected to be in a regional managers role but ended up being another set of hands on the shop floor. An average day was 13 hours and there was no flexibility to get this time back. Absolutely no respect for the people on the floor who were expected to work from 2-5.45 without cover so they couldn't go to the toilet. Disgraceful working conditions.
