Pros

Decent pay, great coworkers and superiors, prime location

Cons

They value optics and age over actual experience and seniority. Not a single person of color in my office or if they were, they are all light-skinned people of color which is very telling. Despite having 10 years of experience, my lead was passed over for a promotion and a very old, very clueless individual put in a managerial position despite having virtually no experience, no competence and only being there a few years. They only passed my lead over because she was half their age, 10 years in and too deep to fight an otherwise lucrative job. The person they put underneath the manager was equally ancient and a Karen - microaggressions, micromanaging, racist, infantilizing, daily meltdowns over the most innocuous questions, you name it. I pity the people she has to lead and the illnesses they will eventually acquire if they don't move departments or quit. The manager has no clue how to run her team and will tell you you're doing a great job one day and let go of you the next purely due to favoritism and optics. She allows her cronies' personal feelings to take priority over the actual position and will allow them to prevent the team from doing their job even when the bankers and clients desperately need help. Very irresponsible, unethical and overall dysfunctional. We lost some of our best colleagues earlier this year and they are STILL looking for people to fill the same exact positions. If anyone makes it to an interview, they ghost CNR partway through the process. I am unsurprised. If I came across them out in public I would refuse to deal with them 5+ days out of my week too. The zero tolerance policy is a joke, because you have to report it to the exact people who run it and there are no watchdogs unless you escalate all the way up, by which time you will inevitably lose your job because you are simply a cog in the machine and again, they value age and optics over any shred of reality, truth or integrity. It IS a traditionally toxic institution, after all. Can't expect them to keep up with the times. Best advice: RUN.
