Pros

Very supportive and inclusive employer operating in tough market conditions. Fantastic diversity and carer network with flexible working opportunities. Challenging and varied work. Genuine appreciation for a job well done. Opportunity to work among the best in the industry. As long as there is a role here for me, I'll be staying.

Cons

Lots redundancies of late have impacted the culture and driven a lot of negative views online. Jobs for life are rare though, and sometimes companies need to significantly downsize - especially those that cannot take their long term future for granted.

Frequent redundancies and poor support for employees

Pros

very mininal pros to the company as a whole

Cons

Yet again, the company has launched another round of redundancies — and, as usual, it’s the people at the bottom who are hit the hardest. Those higher up remain untouched, still celebrating “how well the business is doing” and handing out hoodies to mark their wins, all while more than 400 employees are being shown the door. I’ve seen responses claiming that an “enhanced redundancy package” is being offered. Let’s be honest: the only reason that package exists is because employee reps had to fight relentlessly for it. Even then, it’s nowhere near the level of support that used to be standard. And the company has already stated that this enhanced package is a one‑off, not a precedent — which makes it very clear they’re preparing for yet another round of redundancies next year, likely with even less support for the people who actually keep the business running. And if your mental health takes a hit during all of this? Don’t expect meaningful support. You’ll simply be directed to external charities and helplines rather than the company taking any accountability or providing real, internal wellbeing resources.
