Pros

Some hope for the future and CityJet seems to have made it through the worst of recent wobbliness. Most of the key individuals who seemed to be holding the organisation back have left/been removed. Founder (Pat Byrne) back at the helm seems to be having a positive effect, on morale at least. Recently had a 2% payrise - that said it was the first payrise after a ~7.5% pay cut in 2008. Salaries are down on the market - significantly (appx 40% - 50% base pay, though net pay is in the region of 25% down) in some cases (experienced First Officers particularly). They always pay correctly and on time. A roster pattern which you can extrapolate your days off. Except that it's not fixed, and with the shortage of staff the pattern is all over the place at the moment.

Cons

Still somewhat wobbly; may yet grab defeat from the jaws of victory. Very, very demotivated, beaten up, workforce who've been subjected to 6 years of consistently poor management decisions and been required to cover the losses caused by these through decreased benefits and conditions. Huge outflow of staff, especially pilots, and huge recruitment exercise presently. Poor operational support downroute, for example, waiting for scheduled hotel bus' on a minimum rest overnight. Pot noodle served as crew food - living the dream! Legal minimum everything; holidays, time off, etc. Our fleet of RJ85 aircraft should be in a museum not on the line. Our service offering and customer focus are both sorely lacking. CityJet is good at flying 'fresh air' around Europe efficiently. Our policies focus on fuel efficiency at the expense of cabin comfort & timely operation. Our in-flight service is great only because of our wonderful cabin crew; the catering is bargain basement.
