Pros

This is an amazingly fast-paced, innovative and cool place to be involved with. There is a creative leadership team, willing to assemble programs to help team members, members and the employer groups they work for. The atmosphere is flexible, dynamic and genuinely eager to change their industry in a positive way. The company is growing quickly and offers many opportunities for growth and learning. Parking is provided and close to the office.

Cons

With the busy and fluid nature of the company, there hasn't been time to establish programs to help with growth. I wish there was a more formal review process.

Pros

Good resume builder. You can be thrown into duties with no experience that would require degrees and experience at any other company, like contracting but without the common pay of course. Zero micromanagement; you can surf the internet or play on your phone all day and call in 1-2 times per week and nothing will happen to you. Drinking alcohol on Fridays.

Cons

If you are an eager, hardworking employee here it won't be recognized. The favoritism is intense. Management says it's a "flat" company meaning everyone will be called a Member Advocate no matter how much or little work you do each day. Pay is unfair; you will be paid what you're willing to accept and MA's doing far less than others make more if they're a favorite. They hire people in their early 20's who've never had a job in an office and throw them into a complex position. Having no attendance policy eventually causes those who have a strong work ethic begin to be unable to work a full week and unfortunately for the young people with no experience, sets them up for failure anywhere else. Drinking on Friday might be a pro but when you're hiring young people with little to no pre-employment screening, it's a recipe for disaster.

Pros

Flexible scheduling, Willingness to train individuals with no experience, good location, parking included, opportunity to learn an alternative insurance product, opportunities to develop programs for more efficiency.

Cons

This company will hire ANYONE who walks through the door, regardless of experience, you just have to have a referral from someone who already works there. This means that they end up hiring people who spend the majority of their days online shopping and on social media. They do not discipline or reprimand employees for this type of behavior. They ask employees to take on more responsibility without providing extra incentives or pay increases. They provide little to no training for new staff members and the training they do have are disorganized and unclear. They allow employees to bring alcohol on Fridays and occasionally will even provide it for the entire office, which turns the environment into a frat house with employees playing drinking games in the break room. They market their product without making sure their employees or members fully understand the programs they are supporting. There is little to no room for growth or recognition within the company. Upper management is completely nonresponsive to feedback from employees about room for improvement and has tendencies to micromanage the employees that actually do the majority of the work.
