Pros

You work once a week during the homeschool’s weekly community day. You can tutor the students in your child’s group or be the tutor for a different age-level student group. Your younger children (3 1/2 years old or below) will be in the on-site nursery. All tutors are homeschooling parents and all the students in your tutoring group have their moms present to assist and watch you model the weekly memory work. The pay (check or cash) helps offset the modest annual tuition cost for having your children enrolled in Classical Conversations.

Cons

The free training provided the month or two before is helpful but can be overwhelming for those with little teaching experience or new to the C.C. program. However, there are MANY friendly moms to talk with in person or online to help support you as you prepare and begin tutoring. The learning curve is doable for any mom (or dad) as the best teacher is the parent and the tutor is a guide.

Pros

I love being the lead learner with my class. It is really a mentoring role.

Cons

You don't always have the answers and that can feel a little unnerving sometimes

Pros

Terrific opportunity to provide high standard of cooperation and education to support homeschool families. Excellent manuals with plans and schedules provided for instruction.

Cons

Though CC promises and advertises support in starting a new program, my particular supervisor was lacking in availability and timely responses to questions. After many attempts to get counsel and direction, especially with a very short timeline to prepare for the new school year, I finally got the message that the promised support would not be forthcoming.
