Pros

Nice office. Some top-notch talent. The sporadic interesting project.

Cons

Regarding the US business: Unstable. Erratic. Identity crisis. Arrogant. Misrepresentation of company and jobs in hiring practices. Silo’d roles, despite what they say about everyone being a “t-shaped” strategist with an additional research or creative specialization. Zero onboarding. Little institutional knowledge, even about ‘proprietary methodologies’. Dysfunctional processes. High turnover, rounds of layoffs. Boys club atmosphere (as someone mentioned below) & lightweight accountability for misconduct. (By the way, I think the two prior reviews were probably written by people at Clear with hiring responsibilities. Case in point, in Nov 2017 there was no Executive Director in NY with 3 years tenure. But they were in hiring mode at the time.)

Unimaginative, poor quality

Pros

Nice office space and occasional free drinks

Cons

A very reductive market research agency where junior staff churn out sub-par work. Management are driven by increasing profit, but don't invest in quality training or work. "Strategy" is a buzz word with them, but the actual work is basic market research.

Very, very poor

Pros

The office location is good and if you win them, there is the chance to work on interesting projects.

Cons

It's an emotionless business. There's a culture of finding fault, whether on projects or in reviews, to hold people back. This means it's an inherently negative place to be. There's no trust between senior management and the staff, or generally between the staff. There is a lot of politics to navigate and this limits both the enjoyment of the work and the success of the company. The hours are very long and it's relentless. There is no celebration of success, it's straight on to the next piece of work. The work is quite old school. Limited understanding of modern marketing, in particular digital or innovation.
