Pros

It was fun at first when people were in a good mood. It was good experience for straight-out-school.

Cons

A chaotic open concept office. Bad morale. High attrition rate. Aggressive and indecisive management. 90% of the employees were treated as disposable. They fire people (and sometimes a dozen at once) at the drop of a hat, because of their own failings. The overall strategy and structure changed monthly. Clients were overpromised things we didn't have the capability to produce. Employees were set up to disappoint clients. Most client relationships were unsustainable. Projects were rushed and low-quality. I did not feel proud to work there. The people leaving positive reviews weren't around long enough to understand what a mess this place was.

While we’re sorry to hear you had a negative experience, we thank you for your honest feedback. We’re the first to admit that we've experienced some growing pains in the past. We grew from less than 10 people to over 60 in the span of a year as several big projects took off. We took away a number of lessons from that period and as a result, Clearbridge has changed significantly in the past two years. We believe for the better. We’ve worked hard to address many of the things you touched on in your review: – Our employee retention rate is the highest it’s ever been. We’ve invested a lot in improving our culture and forming a tighter-knit community. – We’ve added layers of management that includes Vice Presidents and Directors to offer better structure and consistent, strategic direction to the company, provide career planning for employees, and open up more training opportunities for team members to develop professionally. – Along with a better organizational structure comes better processes that have allowed us to deliver projects that exceed client expectations. Looking forward, we are continuing to invest in our employees and culture. Our office is still open concept to encourage collaboration :) Again, thank you for your feedback. Deepak Chopra, CEO

Awful place to work

Pros

The downtown location is near a subway

Cons

Everyone I worked with was constantly on edge. The turnover rate is way too high and they keep replacing the full time staff with co-ops. The management team oversell to clients and then expect us to get the impossible done in less time. And when that doesn't happen, we get the blame, not them. The opportunities sound good, but in the end, the stress and condescending attitudes just aren't worth it.

Pros

There are snacks. Mobile Application Experience.

Cons

Administrative staff is toxic, they don't care about employees. They are too busy trying to please the CEO/CTO. The CEO and CTO have no strategy, no real leadership experience, no idea how to keep the boat afloat. People get fired without warning, Full Time and Contract alike. The severance package for full time employees who get fired is a joke - do not take the full time offer, you're treated just like a contractor. Employees get fired, CEO/CTO try their best to cover it up to maintain morale but morale is really low - you can't save what you don't have, might as well be transparent. Can't get budget for anything because the company is owned by CEO/CTO and everything comes out of pocket so it's next to impossible to get budget for anything that isn't directly tied to revenue. It's an agency so when they loose a client people get fired, they don't pay for you to sit idle. Again, don't take the full time offer. If you want to take the the contract offer, be aware that it's extremely unlikely you'll reach the end of your contract term. Chances are you'll get terminated as soon as the project/budget/work is complete and not a day later. Marketing is told to write fake reviews on glassdoor - not fooling anyone.
