      It's a great place to work.

      Pros

      It is small enough to provide a caring and family atmosphere. Many people have 20 or more years of longevity because of the working environment.

      Cons

      The down size of a small college is that there is little opportunity to specialize or if it is necessary to specialize there is the risk of a halt in processing because there is not an in-house cross-trained person to cover for the absent specialist.

      Pros

      Students are good and faculty are very engaged in their work. Also, organizational structure is good and you feel like you can talk to anyone in the organization. Work life balance is pretty good and compensation is competitive.

      Cons

      sometimes there are politics and often you are expected to participate in many things outside of just teaching (lots of advising, committee work, etc.) . The training for certain aspects of the job could be better so that employees can know more about what is expected of them.
