Pros

Good pay masters. Good product. Although its a cheap replica of competition.

Cons

The culture of this company is really pathetic. Managers are essentially bullies here. They have hired people as VPs and CXOs from within their friend circles and they are damn incapable. So their only option is to resort to bully juniors and try to appear 'smart' in front of the founders by doing so. Unfortunately, the founders are also a party to it. The CTO is also a bully and threatens to fire you if you try to raise any issue with him. Additionally he is a really bad manager and cannot work with teams. If you are planning to join this company, please accept that you will have to live with really low self worth and be willing to get bullies every now and then. There isnt much of career growth opportunities as the founders will hire their friends on top of you to hide their own incompetencies. Strictly AVOID this company. There are many companies in India who have 1000 times better culture and great work environment than CleverTap. Dont settle for this company. Please ignore all the 5 star comments, those are written by the HR to maintain the ratings of the company as it took a severe hit when they laid off 80+ employees in a single day.

Hi there, Thank you for sharing your feedback here. The situation with COVID-19 has forced companies around the world to make overnight changes and back off from aggressive hiring and expansion plans—and CleverTap is no exception. While we are saddened by the reduction-in-force recently, we are working diligently with former employees to assist them in sourcing new positions during this time of global uncertainty. We would greatly appreciate it if you would reach out to our HR team, so that we can understand your feedback in detail, which we can use as inputs as we focus on improving. Cheers, Sumith

Pros

Salary and benefits are average to above-average. However, that's the bait. To understand, please see below. As you read other reviews, note that they are solicited from cherry-picked employees to counter the negative, true reviews like this one.

Cons

What started as a fantastic opportunity showed its true colors this year. After all, this was a company that closed back-to-back funding rounds in 2019. Yet, they have completely failed as a company, and for one reason: there is no leadership at any level. • There isn't a corporate strategy beyond "make the sales numbers." There is no plan of action, no market research, no understanding of competition, and no eye on emerging trends. (Example: the CEO read a few marketing books and then decided he knew how to market the company, ignoring the advice and expertise of the team he hired for their expertise.) • Employees and their contributions are not valued. Even if you hit your KPIs, you are always worried you are going to be the next one out. People work in fear. (Example: the turnover rate is above 30% because people join believing in the opportunity, but the working environment is toxic.) • Corporate values are written, but the executives do not practice nor embody them. (Example: There is no feedback given on initiatives, and only big wins are celebrated. Feedback given to HR receives a "thank you" email, but there is no action, no follow up, and no changes made. All staff work only to satisfy the latest priority and whim of the CEO.) • The only thing that is valued at CleverTap is the perception of loyalty, which is why non-performing executives manage to stay in their roles while their direct reports either take the fall and are fired, or they leave due to the company's toxicity level. • Top performers leave quickly which means the organization is in the hands of employees who either politically suckle at the power teet to keep their jobs, or they are merely biding their time until the market corrects and they can leave. • Zero diversity and no plan to include it as an initiative.

Pros

Company invests time in upgrading its Glassdoor score. At the time of writing this, the score was 4.3 for a company that has extremely high attrition.

Cons

The 5 star reviews you see here are all fake, either written by the veterans of the company, HR themselves, or by people who join and are forced to write a Glassdoor review on Day 1 (you'll see most reviews talk about a great onboarding experience). The company has massive attrition because management doesn't care about its employees, nor does HR. During the interview process they will be very courteous with you, and even falsify information just to ensure you join in. Once you join in you realize you receive absolutely no training whatsoever, whoever was to give you a handover has already left, and they released some poorly coded modules because they themselves never received any training or handover. Most people have a tenure of 1 year or less - they move out soon as they can. The only exception being veterans - these are people with 2 or 3+ years in this company who are comfortable bossing and bullying the new joiners around (even the co-founders are guilty of this). Engineering and product teams are a joke, CS cannot retain customers because each CSM has about 100 clients they are responsible for. Work-life balance is nowhere to be found, expect 14+ hours a day. My advice to folks looking for a long term job is to look elsewhere.
