The manager tends to bring his home-life to work, resulting in emotional and unpredictable encounters. This can be a pro when he is in a good mood. I'd personally rather have consistency and professionalism.
Coworkers - are sometimes as immature and damaged as the residents you are trying to help. (Not all, as some staff are great and want to help)
Low Hourly Wage.
Low number of residents = layoffs.
Must have thick skin - Residents will berate you and attempt to break you.
The "Independent Living Skills" training packets that are supposed to prepare the young men for graduation (and independent living) are completely outdated and useless. Most of the residents know this and therefore hate going to mandatory "groups" because of this.
