Pros

Can take free classes if you ever get the time.

Cons

Owners have no club experience. They come from backgrounds like McDonalds and Starbucks, and don’t understand the health conscious way of life and work environment employees in the fitness business are accustomed to and expecting. The owner of the whole franchise also owns the software company all the club pilates are forced to use called Club Ready which has an unbelievable amount of glitches and on going problems with member accounts disappearing and class credits not being attached to member accounts. The app they boast about works about half the time and most of the day is spent on club ready chat help fixing member account problems, telling people to close and reopen their app, or navigating through other software issues. There’s no training on the software provided, just an overview in CA for a few hours & webinars that never cover the actual question you had (you have to sit through the hour to realize that your question wasn’t answered and then go back to chat help that refers you to more articles to read while a member is standing there wanting your help). At the club I worked at the owner had us using black rags for members to clean their own equipment so they would mask the filth accumulating, wrongly assuming members aren’t smart enough to notice. One day when it snowed and schools were closed in the area, the owner of my club couldn’t make a simple decision on whether or not to stay open unless I called each of the 6 women booked for classes that day, got their feedback, and “put it on a grid” (spreadsheet) he had me create. Obviously they need to interview potential franchise owners a little more thoroughly before turning them loose to represent the brand.

Pros

Work in a health environment. Helping people stay fit and get healthy.

Cons

The owner is so focused on making money that he doesn't care for customer service or his employees. Commission are said to happen and yet you don't see them in your check and there is no way of keeping track of your personal sales. Breaks are automatically taken out of your check even if you have no time for a break. Hours on the clock do not match your hours. Paychecks come in anywhere from 3 to 6 days after the 2 week period ends. The owner loves to use foul language with the F Bomb used often. There is no team, support. Very unprofessional.
