Worst employer and worst at client focus

Pros

Young team. Great for beginners. If you hardly have any experience it is a good place to start.

Cons

CEO is hell bent on ruining client relationships. Countless times hearing the CEO yell and scream at clients either on the phone or in person. It is apparent the CEO was picked on as a kid with his heir of power and authority to the point it is comical. Only Cobalt would have a board to run the company that is almost half the size of its staff. If you have experience, this is not a place for you. Hence the high rate of turnover.

Pros

- Cobalt will train you and trust you with responsibility. That means you can move up the ladder rapidly early in your career. - Coworkers and culture are great. You will be welcomed in warmly and engaged while you are here. - Compensation is competitive. Company events are generously funded and genuinely fun. Pay bands are clear and transparent (at least in consulting). - Curiosity is rewarded and you have a chance to explore technologies. - Basic training in consulting is very good and its demanding nature is well-worth the pay-off if you are a young professional. - Medium- to low-effort strategic (and many tactical) initiatives are very innovative and effective due to management backing them with appropriate resourcing.

Cons

- Poor work/life balance with very busy days. - Consultants making project plans while the PMO controls resourcing increases effort and risk associated with planning. - Poor hand off on business analysis & discovery from sales to consulting can cause severe issues. - Managers can become dismissive when challenged on 'third-rail' issues.

Lack of Bureaucracy = Happy, Productive Employees

Pros

Cobalt offers the agility and innovation that I love in start ups, with the security of a mature and niche market. The lack of bureaucracy makes it easier to get things done. Good ideas are encouraged across all levels of staff and I'm surrounded by smart people who teach me things. By far, the best thing about working here is the people.

Cons

Currently the building is under construction. There will be some cool amenities when it's finished, but for now we deal with noise.
