Pros

Free healthcare from the clinic, M-F work schedule, holidays off, decent pay. Coworkers are great, friendly and helpful

Cons

Management is a shame. I was on 6 month probation and got fired halfway through for fabricated reasons. I was never reprimanded, spoken to or corrected of the alleged claims prior to my firing a week before Christmas because they didn't want to pay the holiday.

Pros

Exciting place to work with good calls and employees that want to work and be engaged. Good employees work here who want just any reason to be motivated.

Cons

Imagine a bad Fire Chief, and this one is worse. Hard to believe he rose through the ranks at his previous job to even get to this level. This guy has no clue on what it is to be a firefighter. His skills and understanding of the job requirements are poor, and I imagine many were underwhelmed with his performance in coming up. The only thing worse than his knowledge of firefighting is his leadership skills. He does have the personality of a scam artist, so that explains how he got here. But he has no vision for the department and no idea in how to deal with people. Thankfully his subordinates clean up his messes and carry the burden of his poor attitude. If it weren't for the buffers in between, it would be hard to imagine anyone tolerating working here
