Pros
Culture and competency among non management level peers is excellent
Cons
Toxic and unethical leadership is widely prevalent. The previous CEO has brought "his people" (from previous companies) into crucial roles such as Employee Experience and Engineering, despite their lack of expertise required for these positions. Even more concerning, a majority of the C-Suite conducts themselves in highly unprofessional manners towards others, causing significant damage to the company culture, while the CEO merely sends out leadership messages on Slack. It's truly disheartening to witness as an ambitious professional at the beginning of my career. While the startup culture is known for its fast pace and high demands, our leadership has chosen to underinvest in crucial operational teams, resulting in a substantial amount of burnout and employee attrition. From a product standpoint, the development of solutions has been excessively slow due to an extreme overemphasis on niche use cases, which hinders our ability to keep up with the market. Many leading industrial companies have internal data science and development teams working on similar projects, but with more robust products from the IT field. I'm afraid that Cognite will never be able to catch up. There is a lack of product discipline and no quality team within the company. Customer-facing teams are conducting real-time quality assurance in front of customers. The most egregious aspect of this organization lies in its illegal and highly unethical business practices. Employees are explicitly asked to ignore what is right and engage in actions that are highly unethical.
