Pros

The people of Comestri are fantastic - focussed, fun and supportive. Good work/life balance.

Cons

Management used to be excellent, but recently gone through some structural changes and are now operating very poorly. They seem to have forgotten what made Comestri great.

Company is a mess

Pros

Very diverse company, with an office in Hong Kong where the company relies on for one of the three pillars of the e-commerce platform. years of experience in the market

Cons

Company has gone through a lot of restructures in the directors and management line, resulting in a few rounds of lay offs (including me). I was hired together with a lot of senior engineers and snr qas, as a big investment in quality and a couple months later most if not all new hires were sent off with minimal explanation. also heard that lots more voluntarily left the company after that. maybe in the future all this will make sense for those who stayed.

Very few pros if any

Cons

Too many cons... - CEO (both previous and current) completely lack leadership ability. - Went through 3 restructures in a period of 4 months. - No communication from anyone in leadership roles - people were just moved out of their roles overnight (UX designer was made to a BA role, Backend dev was told to do only QA work, etc...). - Everyone was given a huge paycut for 6 months during covid time. - Post-covid time, all good employees had a 1:1 with executive management and were promised a huge payrise and a big salary bonus but were never given even a $1 increase. - Upper management lacks leadership and lacks the ability to fight on behalf of all employees. - For devs - does not follow SCRUM industry practices. - For QA - there is no clear process. - There is a long long list of cons....
