Pros

I worked at CH for over 2.5 years and loved my time there. At its core, CH is a mission-driven organizations and these values really shines through the day-to-day work. The company is full of passionate employees who care about you as a human and are driven to produce high quality work that improves the lives of others. The company is extremely accommodating to flexing time, prioritizing your own health, and taking time off – CH overall puts their employees first. The work environment is a mix of collaboration and independent work, and it was a great place for me to build and grow my skills with encouragement and support. I also appreciated the benefits and employee resources like ERG groups, student loan payments, and 401k matching.

Cons

CH is a small consulting firm, which has cons in itself that aren't necessarily specific to this company. Consulting in general can be demanding, and because CH takes on smaller contracts, some projects are on tight time and budgets which can be stressful. In the associate level, I would have liked higher compensation and higher yearly raises.

Thanks for your feedback on your experience with us here at CommunicateHealth! Our staff pride themselves on the pursuit of our companywide mission: to improve lives by designing health information that’s easy to understand and use. This shared goal definitely adds a special drive to complete the work that we do, and is also part of the reason we strive to provide support and accessible benefits to our staff throughout their time here. As you mentioned, our mission often entails partnering with clients who are smaller in scale. This does involve time to effectively manage our schedules and billable work. Regarding compensation, we appreciate the feedback. We review our salary calculations annually to make sure that we’re providing competitive salaries within our industry. We also provide a wide variety of additional employee benefits to complement compensation – and we’re always looking to add to our list of offerings.

Pros

One of the biggest reasons I enjoy this company is its commitment to work-life balance. From flexible scheduling options to a generous paid time off policy, summer Fridays, and more, they recognize that employees need to balance their professional and personal lives. Another great feature is its dedication to employee growth and development. They invest in its employees, offering ongoing training and development programs and a clear path for career advancement. This creates a culture of growth and learning that empowers employees to reach their full potential and take on new challenges.

Cons

The one downside is most of employees are remote, so it makes it challenging to get to know co-workers more organically. They do offset this with weekly Creative time on Fridays where you get to interact more with coworkers outside your department on fun virtual activities led by other staff.

Thank you for your kind words about your experience at CommunicateHealth. Our work-life balance and strong benefits are some of many ways we support our staff. A newer benefit that we are excited to offer is the CH Summer Break tradition. This allows all of our staff to have the same full week off of work around the 4th of July! It’s great to hear that you appreciate the professional development opportunities that we make available for our team members. We try to share relevant information about upcoming seminars, conferences, and events that our staff may be interested in for growth opportunities. We also offer several internal trainings to all staff. As far as our remote culture, we do understand that this is a gap for those of us who are used to working in an office environment. Creative Time has been a long-running part of CH’s team culture, along with our Lunch and Learns, that strengthens the bond amongst our staff. We’re always looking for ways to increase opportunities for personal connection and engagement.
