Pros

Lots of time to read and look for other jobs.

Cons

No raise or yearly cost of living increase. You will make the same $12/ hr from when you start to when you end. Supervisions are a waste of time with your resident manager. The company acts like they care about their clients but they allow them to drink unlimited amounts of soda and smoke unlimited amounts of cigarettes which are detrimental to their health. The CFO is a local mayor who is the disciplinarian not the HR Director like it should be.

Pros

1) Great coworkers 2) flexibility 3) satisfying work 4) easy commute

Cons

1) We work for marbles. A behavioral health counselor/case manager with a Master's degree still cleans bathrooms, assists with laundry, and is essentially a care giver. 2) An SLP case manager earns as much as: -an entry level truck driver -an uncertified teacher's aid -an assistant manager at Wendy's in Parsippany -a front desk associate at LA Fitness 3) They can't keep their employees. Highest turnover rate of employees I have ever seen. Employees don't last long because they find better paying jobs once they see how much we have to do for such low-paying wages. 4) Employees can't enroll in a 401k until attaining 1 year of employment and what Community Hope matches is pathetic. 5) The work vehicles that the BHC's drive look like they have been beaten with a bat and crushed by a dinosaur. Work vehicles that we drive are usually between 2003-2006 and are rusty, dirty, and unfit. Management doesn't have them cleaned; ever. The company cars/vans are not safe. 6) CH doesn't invest in their employees because they know their employees won't stick around. 7) Benefits suck, so if you are considering working here, save your time and go elsewhere. I guarantee that you'll earn more money and do less hard labor.

Pros

Exposes college graduates to the mental health field

Cons

The pay is very low. Upper management does not value your work. They try to take advantage of you by making you do more work but keeping the same salary. Upper management does not offer support. One of the only supportive people was my manager, however they got rid of all of the managing positions. They're very money hungry and will try to do anything to put more money in their pockets. The services provided to the consumers are being diminished. They allocate more funds to the veteran's program than the mental health program. Overall, the whole agency is not a good agency to work for.
