Pros

The clients are awesome. That's it.

Cons

Incompetent "Coordinators" who can't manage their time, don't care about their staff, and are beyond unprofessional. The coordinators do not provide any support for behavior intervention, they give you your schedule the day before you work, and they expect you to create a schedule for your clients but provide little to no support in this. As a company, CIS is overall pretty fake. Their mission statement is AMAZING but don't be fooled. They don't actually empower their staff to fulfill this mission.

Pros

Along with employing the most attentive and dedicated staff, CIS truthfully cares for each individual employee. I have worked with other agencies in the same field, and CIS is far more established, involved, and professional. I am constantly surprised by the efforts this company makes to develop employees and foster a positive work environment. I feel lucky to be a part of a growing company, doing honest work, while helping to improve the lives of others. There are many opportunities to advance, and management is very supportive of both personal and professional goals.

Cons

CIS is continually growing. Although there are always hours available to work, this can make staffing and scheduling strenuous.

LOVE MY JOB!

Pros

CIS is consistent in their desire to deliver high quality service to the clients and support to their employees. The mission statement is one that I believe in and it is incredibly meaningful to me to get to be a part of something that is making a real and profound change in people's lives and in the community. I worked as an RC for several years before being promoted to another position. I believe it is extremely important to point out that every person in management ( besides accounting) has been a resource counselor at one point or another and furthermore, most people in management, including directors, still perform direct service or even maintain a small caseload. There is no "forgetting what it's like" or that feeling that management is removed. I couldn't ask for more in an employer. I feel valued each and every day.

Cons

Some days can be hard! Some clients do have aggressive tendencies or may provide unique challenges to work with. Gaining those experiences working with them though is absolutely priceless. When we get to see their success it is one of the most rewarding feelings. It's takes commitment and a lot of hard days that can be frustrating and draining. No one ever said it's a cake walk and coming through to the other side makes it even more rewarding. It is our ability to work through challenges that make it a tighter team.
