Pros

I really liked one of the girls I worked with. However she also hated management as did all of my coworkers. The clients were always sweet.

Cons

I picked this company out of numerous offers because they seemed professional and organized. Nothing was further from the truth. They essentially forgot they hired me and no one ever knew when or where I was supposed to be in for training, I was even confronted once for not being at the second location, when I have never once been told I would be working or was expected there . I would show up and the other trainers would have no idea what they were supposed to teach me. I wondered then why there was only 1 trainer that had been there longer then 4 months...now I know. I worked for about 3 months without having much interaction with management, and numerous times was praised on doing a great job. Only once getting in trouble for not wearing the company shirt by manager #2, (which I didn't resist, even though initially upon being hired I was told I could wear any neutral colors top from manager #1, so I wasn't aware it was a requirement) . Then out of the blue they re-hired an old employee, and suddenly (within 3 days of telling me I was doing great) told me "I wasn't trained well enough and needed to go through it again under different trainers. That they "were doing this with all the employees and I was just the first". They couldn't explain to me what I needed to work on when I asked, saying that they feel I may not being pushing people hard enough, and also claiming that this training period would allow them to identify the "issue". During this "re-training" period. They printed a nice laminated schedule with the former employee/rehire filled into all my shifts...And tried telling me that schedule was only for the current week.. I stayed quiet and did what was asked of me through this training period, inquiring often on how I could improve, always asking questions, staying cheerful, encouraging, and loud, going above and beyond what was asked of me. During this training I wasn't given a schedule, had to ask every day when they wanted me back, and when I arrived to train, would train under the same people who initially trained me "incorrectly". I spent 2.5 weeks being retrained, when they finally sat me down and told me I was doing WORSE, and now claiming I pushed people too hard... They claimed numerous things that were just flat lies, like how I didn't say thank you to my clients, which was one of the things I made sure to focus on doing during my "retraining". During my second review they informed me that it wasn't in fact a "retraining" period like I was told, but I had been suspended... So even through all of this (complete abuse of power) I took what they said to heart, explained I would do what I needed to improve now that they felt they were able to identify the issue of my being too hard on people, even went home and signed up for the "behavioral specialist" improvement program to better assist me in what they were looking for. Without hearing another word for days they called me, had me come in, and fired me. I asked many questions and brought up issues I had with the way they mislead, lied, and instructed me, and the manager completely talked in circles, deflected, and dodged every inquiry. For example I asked why he told me I was doing a great job, 3 days before suspending me. (This manager actually made a point to tell me numerous times, including during my initial interview, that he "doesn't sugar coat things, and gives it to you straight", he was clearly very arrogantly proud of this fact). He claimed that "sometimes in order to get someone to realize their mistakes, you praise them and hope they will want to improve on their own". Correct me if I'm wrong but if someones told they're doing great by their manager...they keep doing what they're doing. It was VERY clear to me that they just wanted to push me out and get me to quit after rehiring their senior staff member, so they would be able to avoid my filing for unemployment. Better yet, two months later. I have attempted to contact them for 3 weeks, leaving 12 messages along with 5 emails, in order to get my pay stubs for schooling purposes (which were only accessible online through the company which I'm no longer able to log into). They refuse to get back to me so now I have to get the Department of Labor involved.

Pros

Sales training is good if you have no experience and want to break into the industry. But if you're looking to be a true personal training director, this is not the job for you.

Cons

Sales Job, advertised as a training director or senior training director. EVERY employee is a training director, and every employee is responsible for selling overpriced training programs with a hefty downpayment. Retention of "Training Directors" is low because of this.

Pros

The hours, The Gym environment.

Cons

Poorly ran management, Unmotivated employees, Unmoral tactics, Money driven with no understanding of moral values. Preach the same nonsense to an extent of only caring if you make them money rather than how they can help you grow. Absolutely no accountability for those who do not follow the guidelines. Manipulators with bad intentions to hit numbers.
