* Almost zero career growth potential, most developers are unable to advance significantly beyond their starting salary and certainly unable to keep up with their market value.
* Raises that are infrequent and inconsequentially small.
* A cost of living adjustment that doesn't keep up with inflation.
* A bonus system tied to goals that historically are not met and realistically unlikely.
* Very high developer turnover for all the reasons above, any developer that doesn't start at a salary they are satisfied with long term is doomed to leave once the realities set in.
* Recent changes in ownership and management over the past year seem to have changed the "soul" of the company. Today the company is nothing more than a business that seeks to extract as much value as possible from employees by distracting them with emotional appeals and free soda.
* The company does everything it can to pay employees the least they will tolerate, and incentivization schemes are geared to benefit the company above all else.
* There is a general mindset that absolutely everyone is replaceable which has significantly poisoned the culture. If people don't feel valued and they don't feel well compensated they aren't going to be particularly motivated.
* It often feels eerily similar to Office Space, with a focus on doing enough not to get hassled because providing higher performance results in the expectation of that performance in the future with limited or no rewards. This directly incentivizes employees to "do their time" rather than "do their best."
* Noisy open office, developers working a cube wall away from people on the phone all day.
* Monitors, chairs, and other office equipment that was sub-par half a decade ago.
* Distance-based in-office requirements that do not make sense. Some developers are forced to commute over an hour each way to sit in the office while a large number of developers are allowed to be remote because they live the appropriate distance away. If you want to work here, make it a remote position, being near the office only hurts you.
