Pros

What I learned in my short time with CP. Scoundrels are still around and this place is full of them. That's a pro because I will be on full alert on my next job hunt.

Cons

No leadership. No direction. Hard work and experience mean nothing when you won't play the game of kiss up. Outdated equipment. Technology far behind the curve. Very few people work at CP who have more than a few years. Longer term employees were either fired, chased away, or saw the light and left. Stay far away from this horrid company. Unless you want to be part of a scam. CEO never talks with the staff. Word is he is running a ponzi scheme. It's a 3 ring circus when the investors show up. Dog and pony show or 3 Stooges show.

We’re sorry to hear that you had a negative experience with CP. It's by no means rewarding to see an employee leave our company with anything less than a professionally rewarding experience. However, we can assure you that we have a focused direction guided by our strong leadership team and we look forward to demonstrating that in 2016! Pros

The best thing about this company was the day that I packed my stuff up and left. The experience there educated me on the warning signs of a bad company so I guess that is something?

Cons

This company has been in business for over 7 years and has yet to turn out any product whatsoever. They sucked investors into this company by selling them on the strength of their patents only to have their tails handed to them in court by an Asian electronics manufacturer. So many shady practices involved here it is stunning. From having goods shipped to another state to avoid paying state sales taxes to handing out worthless options in lieu of actual raises. How about suckering in a foreign government the to help offset the costs of the facility in that country? They play off of employees not knowing any better by handing out options as a number of shares as opposed to percentage. Guess what? Your shares are constantly getting diluted! When will they ever stop moving the goal line and actually turn out a PRODUCT? First it was that we would be the first full HD Laser Pico, then it was the brightest after we were beat to the punch, then it was smallest. Pick a goal and stick with it! But you know that will never happen. I honestly believe that the goal is to package this company up nice and pretty and make it look viable and sell it off to anyone that offers enough to cover all the VC money that has been dumped into it.

Thank you for taking the time to review Compound Photonics. While we certainly don’t agree with your bold allegations, we understand that many factors are involved in making a professional relationship work for everyone. When a company is developing a new product platform, it normally takes years for it to launch into the market. This is a common for any manufacturer. We are trying to change the industry with ground-breaking technology that is stretching the frontiers of the current realities and it takes a little longer. Obviously, the combination of factors that defined your experience here at CP isn’t the same for everyone. We’re glad you learned from your experience here and hope it guides you well in your future career decisions. Pros

The rank and file people are actually pretty smart and were fun to work with. The tech is conceptually interesting. The COO seems to be doing the best he can, considering the situation.

Cons

Where do I start? The CEO is absent so the company is like a rudderless ship. The software management layer installed last year, a group of ex-Microsoft rejects with no ASIC development experience, is beyond clueless. Back-biting and favoritism runs rampant. The culture is on life-support. The product design is a hairball.

It’s difficult to tell from your post if you are still a member of the CP team. If you are, you will be glad to know that we have taken a number of very positive steps forward in improving our internal communications programs to better explain our go-forward strategy for the future. Additional steps and programs will follow shortly – all of which should excite our CP team! If you’d like to share additional thoughts and concerns with us, you can do so confidentially by following the below link. http://goo.gl/forms/UXvyJ1ZTlq
