Give you all the tools they can. Always looking to update their process and lineup of merchandise/vendors. Good base pay with good opportunity for commissions and bonus.
Cons
Long days and work weekends. Schedule needs to be adjusted for a better work life balance. Not a job for someone with young, active kids.
Working at Consumers has been an excellent career choice. I am given the freedom to work creatively on a wide range of projects, spanning across multiple departments. Ownership and management treat every employee who puts forth an honest effort to do their best with respect. Pay is competitive, especially for a Long Island company, where you don't have to factor in the cost of commuting to New York City. The company is large and stable enough to provide employees with big-company benefits but still maintains the values of a smaller, family-owned company. Employees know each other personally and appreciate the importance of each other's contributions. If you are career-oriented and the type of person who takes the initiative to do more than the minimum required, you will be recognized and rewarded.
Cons
There aren't any cons that come to mind. The bar for working hard is set high, however, so if you're looking for a place to pass the time rather than a career opportunity, Consumers is probably not for you.
