High quality working environment (mostly) makes up for low salary

Pros

Flexible hours, great coworkers, opportunities to think and work creatively alongside smart and inspiring people. Company with strong values and a desire to live those out day to day.

Cons

Lots of flux and change during current transition from family-owned to a growth company. Financial compensation is poor and workloads are large.

Pros

Once you get the groove, giving tours are pretty easy, so it’s a quick way to get a little spending cash.

Cons

- Expects unpaid labor. You are expected to research and design your own tours on your own time. During the pandemic, while other tour companies were finding ways to fundraise for their guides, Context not only provided zero support, but asked us all to donate work to the company. We were asked to submit posts for their social media, which they would share without even tagging us for exposure. - Very little support. You are expected to figure out everything on your own (and on your own unpaid time). I don’t even know who my manager is at this point.

Pros

Incredible colleagues who are, for the most part, all A-type personalities and go-getters. If you like to travel and are interested in culture, there's an opportunity to do that in a fast-paced environment.

Cons

With a small company, it's hard at a certain point to see a path for career development. If you don't thrive in a fast-paced environment and are looking for a lot of hand-holding, this isn't for you. A lot is expected, and often the pay doesn't match the hours or responsibility.
