Company Stuck in the Past, No Diversity No Culture

Pros

Pay is decent, the people are nice and friendly somewhat superficial, free gym membership, and the landscape is nice.

Cons

Management and HR is not up to par. This company is stuck in the 70s where they began. You have to be a yes ma'am no sir person at all times, your opinion doesn't matter. You will be written up for the smallest infractions, including joking. You will be ousted immediately if you do not abide by their old fashion culture. They have no diversity, hiring of minorities is extremely low. The HR team is full of ego driven, superficial women, who will micromanage managers employees, and use intimidation to get what they want. You have to park off-site, a block away and they won't tell you until your hired on. Benefits are not great and they know it, for a healthcare company you'd think they would be great but nope. You have to participate in their wellness program in order to get a discount on healthcare. Upper management is paid ridiculous amounts of money, while the employees get pats on the back, and some pennies. HR is hypocritical and has unethical practices. If you look or have a strong personality, you will not be considered for employment, you have to look coachable and formal enough to be washed. This company is also Christian faithed operated, you will participate in town halls, and functions where you will be asked to pray with the leadership team.

Pros

The facility is beautiful with great views of an Olympic swimming pool. Every employee and their spouse receive a free gym membership. There is an onsite cafe with special pricing on meals for employees. The facility also has a hair salon (sorry, no discount there), spa and childcare (some restrictions apply). If you like to work out or want to become/stay fit, this place will get you in great shape.

Cons

Upper management is horrible. Everyone is expected to do their job along with a LONG list of other duties - some of which have absolutely nothing to do with the job at hand. There is no true leadership.

Great coworkers, no room for growth

Pros

I've had the pleasure of developing great relationships with my coworkers over the last decade of working here. My actual job is relatively stress free.

Cons

This is a dead-end position. Leadership has always been notorious for making questioning promotions, burning out the hard workers, and not truly providing room for professional growth. I love the mission of the Cooper Clinic, but it is not a place for a career.
