Pros

Flexible schedule, no supervisor or manager watching your every move. As much OT as you want. You can take off a lot if you wanted to

Cons

Management has no idea what they’re doing. They’ll lie to your face, say whatever they want to you and if they get caught they’ll say they never said it. Work you for 30+ hours straight while other people don’t do much for their shift. You don’t get sleep, constantly having to drive while falling asleep because you can’t deny a job even if you feel unsafe to drive to it from being too tired or you’ll get time off. Miss a job and you’ll get time off. Management fully expects you to put the company and their wants first over your health and family. You sleep in a van on the seats for anywhere from 1-2 1/2 days. There’s no advancement. You either run a boat or you don’t. Other than that, you’ll pull lines for 60+ years.
