Absolutely terrible

Pros

Location in 30 rock is nice

Cons

The head partner there is an abusive tyrant and controls everything from reviewing the letters you write to handling human resources. Though they're a law firm, they probably break every employment law. They definitely break overtime laws, ethnic/religious discrimination, they make up and enforce random rules, and are extremely abusive. There is zero respect to employees and a shield that is drawn around the head partner so he can say and do anything he likes. Do not work there. You'll be miserable, forced to follow ridiculous protocols, and not paid nearly enough for your work. There is also zero concrete instruction, so when you do what you're told you get yelled at for not doing what you're told. And the patent law isn't written down either so it's left up for you to decide and research in indiscriminate ways.

Pros

It is absolutely guaranteed that you will have a renewed lust for life after getting the hell out of here.

Cons

Cooper & Dunham: where a partner will scream at you not to mess up his "quarter of a million dollar deal" while refusing to pay you $30 in overtime for the work. Every single member of management and HR here is Ebenezer Scrooge incarnate. You will get yelled at for mistakes the partner made, mistakes former employees made years ago, and whenever a partner is in a bad mood and decides that you're wrong even when you're not. It is a supremely abusive environment. The main partner does not believe in computers or the cloud, so everything is done on paper. There is no digital document management system or even a system for tracking paper files. You aren't allowed to look at your phone, close your office door during lunch, or even so much as speak to your coworkers for longer than a partner deems necessary. Pay is pitiful and benefits are abysmal. You won't be able to survive in New York on a paralegal's salary here unless you get a second job or have rich parents and a trust fund. Racist and sexist harassment are commonplace. Rumor has it that an employee here years ago committed suicide while at work. That about sums it up.

Pros

Nice starting salary for an entry level legal position. That's about it.

Cons

Awful. I would not reccomend this place to anyone. The work environment is terrible.
