Pros

Good parties, good food, and some of the best people I've ever worked with (emphasis on *with*, not *for*). The team that handles company culture legitimately cares about getting people engaged and offering a work-life balance.

Cons

Development management is absolutely dysfunctional and has no problem whatsoever covering up their mistakes by offering up a developer to fire in their place. There are a host of useless VPs who all rule by fear. They don't understand the technologies that the product uses, but try to meddle in them to disastrous effect, which they will of course outsource blame for. VPs have so little knowledge of the technology stack and so little investment in their staff that they are often completely and hilariously ignorant of the skill sets of even their senior developers. The Steve Jobs quote about hiring "smart people so they can tell us what to do" is on the outside of the CEO's office in full view of the development department, and that is about as far from the truth as it gets. Developer input is in no way valued. Estimates are slashed, technology suggestions are ignored, and guess who reaps the results of the eventual failures? That's right, developers! Career-wise, the development department at CoreDial is a dead-end. "Reviews," such as they are, are advertised as annual, based on start or promotion date, but are often deferred or outright skipped and require frequent reminders by developers. Above all, developers are simply not valued at CoreDial. There is no mentorship at all. There is almost no career path or hope for pay increase. Being an outstanding developer at CoreDial is a good way to get solid references from your peers when you eventually get fed up and go somewhere that will pay you (or are fired for being noticed by one of the too-many VPs). Being absolutely awful will still get you a paycheck for months on end, so if you're looking for a place to sandbag it for a few months, this is the place to go. Bottom line: if you care about your career, avoid this place. If you care about being a good developer, look elsewhere. If you just want to put your head down, grind out mediocre code, not want to bother contributing meaningfully to a product while you collect a paycheck for a while, well, it might not be so bad.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are sorry to hear your time at CoreDial was not as rewarding as you’d hoped. Our people are our greatest asset and we invest significantly in our people-focused initiatives and programs to ensure we are building upon a culture that empowers our team members to bring their ideas forward, be part of developing world-class products and solutions, and ultimately, have a sense of pride and accomplishment in what they do every day. One of the best parts about CoreDial is the vast opportunities there are to learn and grow, and helping our team members achieve their growth and development goals is a top priority for us. In the past year alone we’ve had over a dozen employees receive promotions and several that have moved to new teams internally after expressing an interest in another role and the desire to try something new. CoreDial continues to be a thriving company with a great future ahead. Our focus has been and continues to be around building quality teams, infrastructure, and products to ensure a successful future for the company and the employees that bring it to life. We are sorry to hear your experience did not meet your expectations. We do hope, however, that you were able to take something away from the time you spent here. Whether that be an idea, a new skill or simply having learned something new. We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.
