Pros

Talented and engaged junior and mid-level staff; comparable pay relative to other associations; easy commuting location; nice office; good work-life balance depending on position

Cons

Top-heavy management intent on constant staff reorganization; lack of communication between upper management and the rest of the staff; lack of focus on members; lack of understanding of member needs; lack of interest in offering quality programming; lack of promotion opportunity for mid-level and junior staff; those who offer opinions are treated poorly; lack of room for innovation.

Pros

Remote work opportunity with organization.

Cons

This organization stunned me with how they run their HR department. They extend job offers and then rescind them when references don't call back. Even though they have been supplied with other references, they only want specific ones. They are willing to lose out on a qualified candidate because one person won't respond as a reference. Many of the questions they pose during reference checks are inequitable, biased, and make no sense for a FORMER supervisor who has no knowledge of CURRENT skill set. The rigorous interview process should have been sufficient enough to vet experience and talent, not to mention, they could have also assigned a work task to "test out" the skills and abilities of the candidate. I will never refer any organization or person to this organization. I do NOT recommend this place as a place to work...it has red flags all over!
